Coeur Rochester, Inc., a subsidiary of Coeur d’Alene Mines Corporation, is seeking a Drill & Blast Supervisor for its surface heap leach operations east of Lovelock Nevada. The Drill and Blast Supervisor will direct the activities of the blasting contractor, monitoring performance with a strong focus on safety and quality assurance. This position will also work with the Technical Services group to provide input on pattern designs relating to both drilling and blasting; assisting in developing improvements to the drilling and blasting methods; monitoring, recording and reporting on drilling and blasting results by maintaining drilling and blasting data base; and assisting with driller training and development.
Qualified candidates must have a strong understanding of open pit mining. Candidates that have education in a relevant field to Mining Engineering would be a plus. Additional requirements include excellent communication and leadership skills, good computer skills and a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in open put drill and blast operations.
