Coeur Mexicana, a subsidiary of Coeur d’Alene Mines is recruiting a Mine Operations Manager for its Palmarejo Mine, located in the mining rich Sierra Madre Mountains of western Chihuahua State in Mexico. 

Responsibilities: 

·         Responsible for the safety and health of all mine employees and environmental aspects of mining activities 

·         Provide proper training and employee development to enforce compliance with established standard operating procedures (SOPs)

·         Meet expectations of the Mine Operating Plan in scheduling of underground and surface mining operations and related activities through direct reports, including production,; mine engineering, mine planning; and development activities 

·         Coordinates surface and underground ore delivery with Milling/Processing Department 

·         Coordinates activities of technical contractors, both on and off site

·         Directs engineering in preparation of the Mine Operating Budget Plan 

·         Adheres to Company philosophy and policies and procedures

·         Direct and indirect subordinates equals approximately 145 persons

·         Responsible for the safe and timely start-up of the Guadalupe Project, a satellite underground operation five km from Palmarejo 

Experience: 

·         Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mining Engineering; Geological Engineering or closely related technical field of study 

·         Ten or more years of progressive experience in underground hard-rock mine supervisory / management positions with good exposure to surface mining operations 

·         Demonstrated leadership and problem solving skills 

·         Effective verbal and written communications skills with good bilingual Spanish-English skills 

·         Proficient on relevant computer software programs 

·         Must have a proven record of budget preparation and use of cost control techniques

·         Position is FI/FO, 20 day on, 10 day off rotation with company paid travel
