San Bartolomé (Bolivia) – One of the World’s Largest Pure Silver Mines
Empresa Minera Manquiri (Manquiri), a wholly owned subsidiary of Coeur d’Alene Mines Corporation (Coeur), has constructed the world class San Bartolomé silver mine near Potosi, Bolivia. This project was developed through strong partnerships with local mining Cooperatives and with the Bolivian State Mining Company (COMIBOL). At San Bartolomé, Manquiri is mining previously unrecoverable silver deposits, employing over 300 people and contributing over $22 million annually to the local economy, while at the same time improving the surrounding environment by use of modern mining techniques and mining only the loose rock of the area.
